Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Bluefox Software, a sole proprietorship in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"), for your use of Canada Days on the web and in its apps. By creating an account or using Canada Days, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Canada Days. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

What Canada Days is

Canada Days counts days toward Canadian citizenship and the permanent resident card's residency obligation, from the dates you give it. Every date and count it shows is an estimate. It is not legal or immigration advice, it is not affiliated with the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and IRCC alone decides your application. Confirm your dates with IRCC's physical presence calculator before you apply or plan around them. The calculator on the home page is free and needs no account; counting for one person with an account is free too.

Your account

• You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at privacy@bluefox.software if you think someone else has used your account.
• An account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under it.

Using Canada Days

You agree not to:

• break the law, or help anyone else break it;
• infringe anyone's rights, or harass, threaten or deceive anyone;
• upload malware, or anything you have no right to share;
• try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or probe, scan or test our security without our written permission;
• overload or disrupt the service, or access it by automated means other than the ones we provide;
• resell, copy or reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it.

Your content

What you put in Canada Days stays yours. You give us permission to store, copy and display it only as needed to run the service for you, for as long as it is in your account. You are responsible for it, and you confirm you have the right to put it there.

Assistants acting for you

You can let an AI assistant use Canada Days on your behalf. What it does with the access you give it is treated as done by you. You can see and revoke that access at any time in the app.

The service

We may change, add or remove features. We will try to give notice before a change that takes away something you rely on. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or to protect other people or the service; where we can, we will tell you why first.

You can stop using Canada Days and delete your account at any time in the app: Account → Delete account.

No warranty

Canada Days is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that any count or date it shows is correct, and you should keep your own copy of anything important. A decision you make on a count, such as when to apply or whether to travel, is yours to check with IRCC first.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business. Our total liability to you for any claim about Canada Days is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, and CA$100. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have as a consumer that the law says cannot be limited.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of British Columbia decide any dispute about them, unless the law of the place where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We will post any change here with a new date. If it matters to you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Using Canada Days after that means you accept the new terms.
